プロセス：

ヨーロッパの大学とオンラインで共同プロジェクトを進めていきます。学生たちは自分たちで発表準備のためにスケジュールを立てたり、話し合いの時間を設けたりします。実際に海外の学生とコミュニケーションを図ることで、異なる文化や考えを理解し、新しい視点から物事を考える力を身に着けます。

感想：

異文化理解はすでにできていると思っていたけれど、実際に彼らと交流をしていく中でその理解を活かせなくては意味がないと感じました。知っているだけでなく、理解したことをより良い関係づくりや課題進行に応用することが本当の理解だと思います。授業を通して実践できたという経験は貴重なことだと感じました。

コースの⽬標：

授業では主に品詞の変化、言葉のニュアンスなどを学習します。また翻訳をする際の技術なども学ぶことができます。先生が準備した教材、実際のニュース、映画などを利用することによってより楽しみながら理解を深めることができます。

プロセス：

毎回の授業で提示される短いエッセイを各自翻訳し、クラス内で共有し、話し合います。

中間考査では自分たちが興味のある映画やドラマを選び、その一部を翻訳し、さらに作品を実演する発表があります。

感想：

翻訳するだけなら、今はＡＩツールを使えばよいと考える人も多いですが、実際の映画やドラマの作品というのは人間が翻訳して作品にしています。なぜ人間なのか。私たちにしか理解できない言い回しや表現、感じ方を表せるのはやはり人にしかできないからです。授業を通して、効果的な翻訳方法やテクニックを学び、言語を応用することの面白さを感じることができました。

コースの⽬標：

四種類の技能（話す、聞く、読む、書く）を学び、日本語で自分の意見を伝えたり、他人の考えを聞く練習も行います。日本のマナーや礼儀を理解することも目標としています。

プロセス：

日本語は話す相手によって話し方が変わったり、時には適切な敬語を使うことも求められます。それを理解するために授業ではテーマが出され、誰と、どこで、何をなどの内容に注意しながら寸劇を作ったりします。また日本語でのプレゼンテーションスキルなども学びます。

感想：

座学だけではなく、実践していく授業スタイルが面白いです。寸劇をビデオで撮るというプロジェクトでは初め、うまく言葉が出てこなかったり、自然な表現にならなかったりしましたが、時間が経つにつれて、だんだん意見を日本語で伝えられるようになりました。

The aim of the Department of Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics is to train and cultivate students with professional English and Japanese language skills, along with cross-cultural understanding, communication competence, independent analytic and critical thinking skills, and spirits of teamwork and professionalism. Each course is specially designed with considerations of the current social pulse and industrial development to strengthen students’ competitiveness, allowing them to be the elite in the workplace, or professionals in language teaching or academic research.

1. Reasons for applying to study in Taiwan

I came to study in Taiwan because some of my family members live in Taiwan, so I want to experience life in Taiwan and also want to know if it is much different from living in Hong Kong. So far, there is nothing unsatisfactory because living and studying in Taiwan are easier than in Hong Kong. Perhaps the reason is that the pace of life is not so tight. Moreover, Taiwanese people are also very friendly and I like to meet many Taiwanese friends.

2. Why are you satisfied or dissatisfied so far?

The courses in the department will not be hard to understand. As long as I listen carefully to the class and review it, I can get better grades. There are no language communication problems for me, so it will not be too difficult to learn in Chinese.

3. Scholarship

Both schools and departments have scholarships to apply for, as well as scholarships for overseas Chinese students. The requirements are all based on grades and behavior. If our ranking or scores can meet the criteria of the scholarship, we can apply for it. The higher the ranking, the more scholarships we can get.

4. The way to apply to study abroad and experience sharing

I applied to study in Taiwan through the Highwise Service Foundation. The way to apply is very simple. There will be individual applications and unified enrollment. The individual application depends on whether you have a school you want to apply to, and if you have one, you can apply earlier. You will get a lot of great and different experiences when you come to study in Taiwan, so I recommend studying in Taiwan.
